DILBI Coffee UK sells coffee, not your data. This page explains what personal information we collect when you shop at dilbi.store or join the Dilbi Journal, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. We keep it plain and short, in the same spirit as everything else we do.
Who we are
The business responsible for your personal data (the data controller) is DILBI COFFEE UK LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17022325. Registered office: 28 Gimson Crescent, Tadpole Garden Village, Swindon, England, SN25 2RQ. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as a data protection fee payer.

What we collect and why
When you place an order
Our checkout is operated by Snipcart. To fulfil your order we collect your name, email address, delivery address and the details of what you bought. We use this to process and deliver your order, send you order confirmations, and keep the records that tax law requires us to keep. The legal basis is the contract we have with you when you buy from us.
Card payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe over a secure connection and never touch our systems. Stripe tells us only that payment succeeded or failed.
When we deliver your coffee
We pass your name and delivery address to Royal Mail so your order can reach you. That is all they receive from us.
When you join the Dilbi Journal
If you sign up to the Journal we collect your email address, and we use it for one thing: sending you the Journal, with origin stories, brewing notes and first access to new harvests. The legal basis is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any Journal email or by writing to info@dilbi.store. We will remove you promptly and without fuss.
When you contact us
If you email us we will hold your message and email address for as long as we need them to help you.
When you visit the site
Our site is hosted by Netlify, which keeps standard server logs (including IP addresses) for security and reliability. The site also loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests the font files from Google and shares your IP address with them in doing so. We use these services on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website.
Cookies
We do not run advertising or analytics cookies. The only cookies and similar storage used on dilbi.store are the essential ones set by Snipcart so that your shopping cart works. Because they are strictly necessary for the shop to function, no consent banner is required for them.
Who we share your data with
We never sell your personal data, and we never share it with anyone for their own marketing. The only parties that handle your data are the service providers that make the shop run:
- Snipcart operates our checkout and stores order details.
- Stripe processes card payments.
- Netlify hosts the website and stores Journal signups.
- Royal Mail delivers your order.
Some of these providers are based outside the UK, in Canada and the United States. Where data leaves the UK it is protected by recognised safeguards, such as UK adequacy decisions and the international data transfer agreements built into our contracts with these providers.
How long we keep your data
Order records are kept for six years, because tax and accounting law requires it. Your Journal email address is kept until you unsubscribe. Emails you send us are kept only as long as they are useful for helping you. Server logs are kept briefly by our hosting provider and then deleted.
Your rights
UK data protection law gives you the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw any consent you have given. To use any of these rights, email info@dilbi.store and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, for example if we ever add analytics or move the Journal to a dedicated email platform, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
